Plus Therapeutics is proud to collaborate with CNSide Diagnostics and the Leptomeningeal Cancer Foundation on the development of a new educational resource designed to support individuals affected by leptomeningeal metastases (LM), as well as their caregivers and healthcare teams.

This newly released Leptomeningeal Metastases Clinical Education Poster was created to provide clear, accessible, and medically accurate information at a time when patients and families are often navigating a complex and overwhelming diagnosis.

Empowering Patients Through Education

Leptomeningeal metastases occur when cancer spreads to the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Despite its serious nature, LM remains widely misunderstood, and many patients and caregivers struggle to find reliable, easy‑to‑understand information.

This poster was developed to help close that gap. It explains:

  • What leptomeningeal metastases are and how they develop
  • Common symptoms patients and caregivers should be aware of
  • How LM is diagnosed, including emerging diagnostic approaches
  • Why advances in diagnostics and targeted therapies offer hope for the future

The goal is to ensure that patients, caregivers, and clinicians have a shared understanding of LM—supporting informed conversations and timely care decisions.

A Collaborative Effort with Patient Advocates

This initiative reflects a shared commitment between Plus Therapeutics, CNSide Diagnostics, and the Leptomeningeal Cancer Foundation to elevate awareness and education around LM. By working closely with patient advocates, the teams sought to ensure the content is not only scientifically accurate, but also compassionate, clear, and relevant to real‑world patient experiences.

“By working together with patient advocates, our goal is to ensure accurate, accessible information reaches those who need it—when it matters most.”

Supporting Care Across Cancer Types

Leptomeningeal metastases can arise from multiple primary cancers, including breast cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, and other solid tumors that spread to the central nervous system. This resource is intended to support patients and clinicians across these disease areas and foster earlier recognition and understanding of LM.
